Relationships, Value & Pricing

ADR’s 2026 Product Guide coming soon

As we are preparing to introduce ADR’s 2026 Product Guide, we will be adjusting prices across a large portion of ADR’s product offering. Since I view the bond between ADR and its trade customers relationally, not transactionally, I feel it is important that I am transparent with you about:

  • ADR’s philosophy about the value we deliver,
  • How we price our efforts,
  • Our commitment to maintaining the standards you and your customers expect.

We believe it is essential to understand the appropriate context for the price adjustments, particularly given the long-standing relationships we have built with our trade partners.

Background

Over the past several years, especially since the pandemic, we have experienced significant, sustained increases in the cost of raw materials used in our drapery hardware products. These include metals (steel, iron and aluminum), paints and antiques, resin, and other component inputs that are essential to maintaining the structural integrity, appearance, and durability of our products. In addition, and more recently, tariffs affecting certain upstream materials and processes have materially increased our landed costs, independent of any changes we have made internally. We have absorbed much of these cost increases over last two years but now find it necessary to reevaluate our pricing to enable us to continue to deliver value and quality.

American Made

At the same time, we have made a deliberate and ongoing commitment to domestic production and to compensating skilled U.S. craftsmen and artisans with fair, competitive wages. Our hardware is made to order, not mass-produced, and relies on experienced skilled labor rather than automated shortcuts. Preserving that model—one that prioritizes craftsmanship, consistency, and accountability — carries higher costs than most overseas or high-volume alternatives.

Customer

While our commercial relationship with you is B2B, we recognize that we ultimately share the same end customer: the homeowner. That customer may not see every cost input directly, but they do experience the outcome — how the hardware looks, how it performs over time, how consistently it is installed, and how well it supports the finished window treatment and overall look of your collective vision. Compromising on materials, labor, or processes would erode that experience and the value you deliver to your clients.

Commitment

The pricing adjustments reflected in this catalog are intended to ensure continuity rather than change. They allow us to maintain the quality standards, finish integrity, lead-time reliability, and product consistency that you and your customers expect. They also support our ability to stand behind our products over the long term, rather than optimizing short-term cost reductions that would ultimately degrade our product quality and value.

Relationship

We view pricing not as an isolated transaction, but as part of a broader value relationship — one that includes quality, durability, domestic manufacturing, and brand stability. These updates are designed to preserve that equation and to support a sustainable partnership with our trade customers, rather than to redefine it.

I’d love to hear from you if you have any thoughts, questions or comments –

Sincerely,

Blaine Smith Signature
